"I always hoped
to have you beside me,
during the sunset of my life:
when the sun
is so close to the horizon,
that the night is almost frightening,
and when everything
seems to be filtered,
by the awareness
that time is almost up;
that the things,
that once looked so far away,
are now so close,
and we think more about tomorrow,
than about today.
I always hoped
you would be by my side,
because I knew
that smiling would be easier,
that hugs would be warmer,
efforts less tiring,
suffering more tolerable,
joys more intense -
and because I wanted to share
every moment of my life with you,
(even the final ones).
I always hoped
we would grow old together -
and, now that the wrinkles
are even deeper,
because you're not here ......

doesn't scare me anymore."

I never quite finished this. I kept meaning to but, in the end, I left it as it was. Maybe my idea was, that they could complete their journey together and paint the unfinished pieces, with their own personal dreams and memories. Or maybe I just couldn't be bothered.
I oversaturated the colour (as I tend to do) - but I tried dulling it down and then reuploading but it's still showing the first one. So just wear sunglasses, or wait till the image changes.
